VISITING US?

We’re glad you’re here.

We are a growing community of faith where people are pursuing meaningful relationships with God and each other. There is something here for everyone regardless of your church background and where you are on your own spiritual journey. We’re here to help you with that important journey, and we look forward to meeting you!

When should I arrive?

Our coffee bar is open in the foyer at 10:00 am so you can grab a cup before our service begins at 10:30 am.

What will I experience when I come on a Sunday morning?

  • The tone of our Sunday morning is relaxed and welcoming. There will be some people in jeans, others in their Sunday best and everything in between.
  • Our friendly greeters will welcome you at the door. Our usher team will offer you a bulletin with information about the service and our weekly programs, and help you find a seat.
  • We like to sing a few praise songs or hymns and pray. Each week our messages help us explore what the Bible says on relevant issues in a creative and compelling way. We celebrate communion each month to help us remember Jesus’ sacrifice. As a Free Methodist Church we practice open table fellowship – which means you do not have to be a member of our church – you just need to want to live in relationship with Jesus and want more of his grace in your life.

What does First FMC have for my children or youth?

  • There is nursery care for infants to age 3, on the main level. If you would feel more comfortable staying with your child, the nursery is next to the foyer and equipped with a speaker to hear the morning worship service.
  • There is ministry to children during the service for ages 4 to grade 6, or activity bags on holidays for the children while they stay in the service.
  • First FMC Youth Group (grades 7-12) meets most Thursdays at the church for bible study and fun activities. It is a relaxed time to enjoy hanging out with friends who also want to explore the big questions around life, relationships, Jesus, the Bible … and everything!

Is your building wheelchair accessible? Do you have other assistance options?

  • Our Accessible Parking is located in the paved parking area at the back of the church (accessed from 4th Ave NW). Our wheelchair ramp starts on the west side of the building leading to our main entrance on Hochelaga St W.
  • We have a wheelchair accessible washroom in the foyer beside the coffee area.
  • There is a lift for wheelchairs that provides access to our Fellowship Hall in our basement.
  • We have hearing support devices available during our service.
